Terms of Service

These terms describe what Rizident does, what it does not do, and what you agree to when you use the service at rizident.com.

Plain language

The short version.

Rizident is self-help software that helps you prepare your own USCIS forms and supporting packet. You remain the person filing. You review and confirm everything. We are not a law firm, we are not USCIS, and we never decide your case.

1. What the service is

Rizident is a document preparation technology service. It collects your answers in plain language, checks your uploaded documents, applies versioned USCIS rules configuration, and produces a completed official USCIS form edition plus an assembled filing packet for your own review, signature and submission.

2. What the service is not

  • Rizident is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions or legal representation. No attorney-client relationship is created.
  • Rizident is not USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
  • USCIS makes all immigration decisions. We cannot influence, predict or guarantee any government outcome, processing time, approval or denial.
  • We do not select a filing strategy for you or tell you which benefit to apply for.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Provide truthful, accurate and complete information.
  • Review every prepared value before confirming. Your confirmation is what makes a packet final.
  • Sign forms yourself in wet ink. We never sign anything on your behalf.
  • Pay the USCIS filing fee directly to the government using an authorized method.

4. Fees

The Rizident preparation fee is paid to Rizident for preparation software and services. The USCIS government filing fee is set by USCIS, paid to the government, and is never revenue for Rizident. Both amounts are shown to you separately before you pay. Prices are shown in US dollars, and the amount displayed at checkout is the amount charged.

5. Cancellation

There is no subscription and no recurring charge. You can stop using the service at any time. Before you pay the preparation fee you may abandon a case at no cost. After you pay, cancellation and refund handling is described in our Refund & Money-Back Guarantee terms.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Rizident to prepare filings for another person as a business without our written agreement, submit falsified documents, attempt to access another customer's case, or interfere with the security of the service.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rizident is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to a filing is limited to the preparation fee you paid for that filing. Government filing fees are not recoverable from us because we never receive them.

8. Legal disclaimer

  • Rizident is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
  • Rizident is not USCIS or any government agency.
  • USCIS makes all immigration decisions.
  • Immigration law is complex. If your situation involves prior denials, removal proceedings, criminal history or other complications, consult a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.
