Privacy Policy
Immigration files contain some of the most sensitive information a person has. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do to protect it.
Scope
Who this applies to.
This policy covers rizident.com and the Rizident application, for anyone who visits the site or creates an account.
Information we collect
- Account information — email address and authentication data needed to sign you in.
- Case information — the answers you give in the guided questionnaire, which can include biographic, family, address, employment and immigration history details.
- Documents you upload — identity documents, notices and supporting evidence, plus information extracted from them to check your case.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Operational records — an audit trail of important actions on your case, used for accuracy, security and dispute resolution.
How we use it
- To prepare your USCIS forms and filing packet.
- To check documents, detect inconsistencies and show you what is missing.
- To take payment for the preparation fee and to provide support.
- To keep the service secure and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your immigration documents for advertising.
How we protect it
- Uploaded documents are stored in private storage and are never publicly readable.
- Access is enforced at the database level, so your case data is reachable only by your own authenticated account.
- Document links are short-lived and signed, not permanent public URLs.
- Sensitive actions are recorded in an append-only audit trail.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Rizident — hosting and database infrastructure, our payment provider, and document-analysis processing — and only to the extent required to deliver the service. We may disclose information where legally required. We do not share your case data with USCIS on your behalf; you file your own packet.
Retention and your choices
- You can view and correct your answers while a case is still open.
- You can request a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account and uploaded documents, by emailing us.
- Records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons are retained for as long as the law requires, then deleted.
Children
Rizident accounts are for adults. A parent or legal guardian may prepare a filing that includes a child, but the account holder must be 18 or older.
